Join the Jersey Cyber Security Centre (JCSC) and Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC) for a half-day workshop on the relationship between cyber security and data protection.
Cyber security and data protection are closely linked.
A core function of cyber security measures is to protect personal data from unauthorised access, and a fundamental principle of data protection principle is to use the appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of personal data. When cyber attacks are successful, they often involve the compromise of personal data.
Despite these commonalities, colleagues working in these related fields may not always have opportunities to meet and share knowledge.
This half day workshop is aimed at everyone working in the related fields of data protection and cyber security.
During these event, attendees will:
- discuss how cyber security and data protection interact, including how they are – or should be – regulated
- have the opportunity to ask questions of both the Information Commissioner for Jersey (Paul Vane), and the Director of the Jersey Cyber Security Centre (Matt Palmer)
- be able to meet and share knowledge with colleagues, during a drinks reception sponsored by the Islands Data Governance Forum (IDGF).
This event is free to attend: reserve your ticket via the JCSC Eventbrite page.
